hi, as of today (19.11.14), twitter has opened up to allow searching all the way back to its inception in 2006, lifting the 7 day limit. Is it possible to access this via TAGS?
I also am trying to search for old tweets. For example, the term: “hello since:2007-01-01 until:2007-01-03” yields no result, although there are results through Twitter Search: https://twitter.com/search?q=hello%20since%3A2007-01-01%20until%3A2007-01-03&src=typd
TAGS uses the official Twitter API which is limited to searches made on Twitter.com. We are effectively second class citizens. Given Twitter has a number of data resellers selling historic data I don’t see this changing soon
note that the search results at twitter.com may return historical results while the Search API usually only serves tweets from the past week. [Ref]
